What a Random suggestion…

Just ran across this article when perusing my Facebook news feed.  (See – if you cultivate the right friendships, Facebook can be BENEFICIAL..  Put that on your stovetop and steam it.)

The basic suggestion is that rather than massing your repetitions, you should go back and forth between different sections of a piece.  You are still repeating sections correctly, but you make the repetitions seem more novel by interjecting a few repetitions of another section of the piece (or technical requirement, or PBE, or harmonization).  Your brain responds to the novelty by paying more attention.
